Data You Send Directly
Information entered into a search widget, such as a name, phone number, or address, is sent to the third-party provider that operates the result service. Boulder County Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those searches on its own servers. If you contact the operators, the mailbox receives the information in your message and uses it to respond.
Automatic Log Information
Hosting systems may record ordinary technical data such as an IP address, browser type, requested pages, and timestamps. The operators may review aggregate patterns to keep the pages working and understand which research routes are useful. Basic cookies or similar tools may support analytics or advertising measurement where those services are enabled.
How That Data Is Used
Technical and contact information is used to operate the reference pages, answer messages, diagnose faults, measure traffic, and improve content. Boulder County Residents Directory does not sell a visitor list or build an individual profile from ordinary use.
Links and Search Providers
Pages link to Boulder County portals, Colorado agencies, courts, libraries, archives, and third-party search tools. Once a reader leaves for an external service, that service's privacy policy and data practices apply. Sponsored search results are provided by a third party, not by the county or library.
Who Can Process It
Hosting and technical service providers may process server logs. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. Information may also be disclosed when valid legal process requires it. No other disclosure is intended.
Security and Retention
The pages are served over an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only as long as the stated operating needs require. There are no site accounts, so Boulder County Residents Directory does not maintain a password or user profile for a reader.
Visitors Under 18
The reference service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. The operators do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor may have sent personal information, contact the operators through the Contact page so it can be reviewed and deleted when appropriate.
Your Colorado Data Rights
Colorado's Privacy Act provides rights such as access, correction, deletion, portability, and certain opt-outs in the circumstances defined by that law. The Colorado Attorney General's Privacy Act guidance also explains that public government data is treated separately. Those rights do not turn into a general right to obtain another person's confidential county, court, voter, vital, or library record.
Because the site keeps little, an ordinary request normally means checking the contact mailbox and relevant server logs. Ask through the Contact page. Public records maintained by Colorado, Boulder County, a municipality, a court, or a library must be addressed to the custodian. The Colorado Attorney General's CORA guidance explains request timing, exemptions, and fees under the Colorado Open Records Act, C.R.S. §§24-72-200.1 through 24-72-206. The Colorado Criminal Justice Records Act, C.R.S. §§24-72-301 through 24-72-309, governs a separate public-record route.
The Colorado DMV vehicle-record guidance is a useful boundary example: motor-vehicle personal information has its own access rules and is not a general name-and-address directory.
